Personally, I think that if the gap is greater than 8 years it's becoming more of an issue. Up to that point it really doesn't matter that much.

Then of course is the fact that the older you get the less tha age gap matters. There might be a colossal difference between a 20 year old and a 30 year old, but 70 and 80? Barely noticable.
